Lactic Acid is one of the more mild and gentle Alpha Hydroxy Acids. It helps slough off dead skin cells revealing smoother, softer, & brighter skin. Lactic acid is said to treat scarring, skin discoloration, reduced pore appearance, and signs of aging, like fine lines and wrinkles. Lactic Acid is one of the more mild Alpha Hydroxy Acids and is best for those with normal to dry sensitive skin.
Lactic acid is an exfoliating alpha-hydroxy acid that helps promote the shedding of dead skin cells. By gently eliminating the buildup of dead cells, this ingredient helps soften and smooth your skin and improve its overall texture.2 In addition, lactic acid is a component of the skin’s natural moisturizing factor, or NMF, which is a blend of compounds naturally found in the skin that helps it hold on to moisture.3 Bathing or washing with soaps and cleaning products can reduce the levels of NMF in the outer most layers of the skin.
What makes this serum so unique is that it is formulated with Lactic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Rose Extract, and Rose Distilate . Since I mentioned the benefits of Lactic Acid before, lets talk about the other ingredients. The Hyaluronic acid will help moisturize and plump the skin while Rose water, and Rose extract help soothe the skin. This serum is vegan and cruelty free. This product has been balance to a ph of 3.5 – 4.
What does hyaluronic acid do for you?
Hyaluronic acid is a remarkable substance because of all the benefits and uses it has in your body. Here are just a few of the benefits of hyaluronic acid:
- It helps things move smoothly. Hyaluronic acid helps your joints work like a well-oiled machine. It prevents pain and injury from bones grinding against each other.
- It helps keep things hydrated. Hyaluronic acid is very good at retaining water. A quarter-teaspoon of hyaluronic acid holds about one and a half gallons of water. That’s why hyaluronic acid is often used for treating dry eyes. It’s also used in moisturizing creams, lotions, ointments and serums.
- It makes your skin flexible. Hyaluronic acid helps skin stretch and flex and reduces skin wrinkles and lines. Hyaluronic acid is also proven to help wounds heal faster and can reduce scarring.
Directions: Apply 2-3 drops to damp skin, ideally in the PM. (Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.)
*You might feel a slight tingling sensation and flushed appearance at first but it typically will subside within minutes.
